A Girl Who Never Stopped Smiling

This is a story of a teenage girl...she was brunette. She had dark brown eyes, which seemed to hide an untold story, A normal teen, who never felt she was pretty enough, never felt she was good enough for anyone, but she knew how to make the most of her life, and trust me..she did.. because she always SMILED..she had a smile which was one in a million, most meaningful, most honest, maybe not that beautiful for the rest because they always went for the outer beauty and never gave a damn about whats inside...but a guy walked in her life, and well changed her life maybe for good..maybe for bad.. 

    She was a type of a girl...um sorry..she had no type, she was simply one of a kind! she was crazy, she had one of the most cheerful laugh you can ever see, she was average in academics, a girl who preferred sports instead of ballerina, she liked to be real, not pile up make up on her face, she had few friends but very close to her heart, and ...a past. So many heart breaking things happened to her, but she never shed a tear, she always stood like a skyscraper always high, always strong. No one had ever seen her crying. words which she used the most were- "I'm Okay :)" while looking at the ground grinning, and pulling her hair behind her ears. She had a normal life. she must be fifteen,  when her monotonous life changed.

    Once, she was walking around in her high school, it was a new school year, had two or three friends then, but was walking alone in the campus biting her lower lip which was a sign that she was nervous, just wandering around when she saw two eyes staring straight into her eyes...deep black eyes, beautiful... He was with five of his friends wearing the school football jersey, few drops of sweat on his forehead.. she felt something within her, like butterflies you know, he caused a shiver in her... their eye contact broke when his friend pulled him towards boys common room, he walked, she was still there..watching him, he turned and smiled. she smiled back and turned away.

   She ignored it, and walked into her class, she was overjoyed to find that five of her best friends, two guys and three girlies were in the same class as her. they all used to have fun, tease each other, talk about football and well, crushes too. whenever it came on this discussion, she never spoke up, this time her friends forced her to speak up and she said, "okay, when do you know you are crushing on someone..i mean how..!?" they all smiled at her being so naive. a guy from the group began, "you feel butterflies in your stomach when you catch them looking at you...you feel amazing.. its hard for you to make an eye contact because you feel shy and..oh god..m getting too movie-ish...". She could not help but think about the guy she saw in the school ,  campus. She kept on thinking about this for days, everyday she used to see him, he used to see her and smile. They both were shy to talk to each other. But she could already feel an amazing chemistry between then. She didn't want a guy to come in her life this way because she wanted to be happy always and love always hurts ...She believed b'coz of her past. But she started trusting this guy with her heart, she had different feelings for him which is hard to describe. A month passed away with her confusion and their daily exchange of smiles in the same campus.

  One day she went upto her locker and found a yellow paper slipped inside, she took it out of curiosity and read the words on it, " I think I'm falling for your smile, please stop killing me with that! you know who I'm.. We're smile friends. My name is Aaron, it took me real guts to write to you, just one question! How do you manage to smile always? your life seems perfect! :) Is it?"

 The smile on her face widened. she took out a marker and wrote behind that paper, "Thank you so much..and no.. no ones life is perfect..nor is mine, i just like to smile always...and we all should do, before life snatches it away from us! I'm sorry if i sound too philosophical, Anyway, good to finally know you Aaron. hope to see more of you!"

  She was very happy, she slipped the chit where it was found! In one hour or so the chit dissappeared , obviously Aaron took it! They both exchanged their numbers and started texting each other. It was very beautiful for her...she felt like the happiest person in the world when he called her, 'honey'.. She had faith in him, told him secrets which she told none. Her life was good, the way she always wanted it to be, the way every girl wants her life to be! Everything was happening suddenly in her life...Her so called good life turned into a perfect one when Aaron confessed to her that he loved her. She feared this happiness, but felt it was right to just live in the moment. love was in the air. though their relationship was a secret, her best friends knew about it. They used to talk less with each other when they met in school, but he was always on her mind! day in and day out.. It was love like how they show in the movies. A Perfect One! They were like made for each other! There love wasn't like the rest, it was something different. They texted each other all the time, and meant each time they said 'I love you' to each other. They had one of those times together, where they felt like pausing their lives, Like it couldn't get any better! BUT change is the only thing which is constant in life! There can be a rainy ending to a perfect day, and that's what happened to her...Things changed when one day Aaron texted her,

   'This is just not going the way i expected it to go, You're really amazing, no doubt in that girl..maybe its just me! I think we were better off as just friends, you know smile friends in the campus? :) ..this thing doesn't seem to work between us...it just isn't going anywhere! I'm sorry. I need to break up ..we can still be friends of-course! hope you understand. take care honey.'

  This text shook her...the weird feeling she felt in her...was so different from what she felt when he smiled at her for the first time! She controlled her tears, she never wanted to cry and feel helpless! Why did this happen to her? If it was going to end this way..why did he even start it with his charming smile? The saddest thing is, she actually thought he was different..for real! The reason which he told for the break up didn't seem true to her..she thought it was something else, maybe because suddenly he felt she isn't good enough, pretty enough or maybe her two guy best friends..or just something! Just one thing..whatever happened was not supposed to happen. She opened that text, stared at it for a while and deleted it... A tear rolled out from her eyes, trust me she was devastated from inside, but she never wanted to realize that. She still smiled thinking maybe this is the beginning of something even better! She knew it will be all okay because if there is a chance of a raining ending to a perfect day, there is also a possibility of a rainbow after a stormy rain. She was habituated with people leaving her, though she didn't expect Aaron to leave her side so soon....She had sleepless nights thinking about him, but she knew how to keep it going..that was one of the best things about her!

   When her friends came to know about this, they were all shocked! They were also astonished how she wasn't broken..how she still was as strong as before! Meanwhile, Aaron got a new girlfriend, It must have been hard for her to see him everyday in that same campus with her, she still used to smile at him, even though he didn't. 'We can still be friends'..One of his lies.He completely erased her from his life! But she just wanted him to be happy...if not with her, maybe with someone else..it didn't matter to her! Looking at her smile, her laughter, no one could guess that her life was a total mess! She was not just pretending to be happy, she was actually happy!

  Her past had been miserable! She was bullied many times, She was ,mistreated at home sometimes, she had been called a bitch..and even worse things which could be a scar for a girl for her lifetime, She never considered herself as all good looking, but a guy walked into her life and made her realize it was the other way..and eventually left her like everyone else did. People were tired of hurting her, but she wasn't tired of smiling!

  Sometimes in life, we feel numb, we feel empty and sad and we get tired of everything! But we should be glad that God considers us strong enough for these problems, he gives problems to only those, who he feels are capable enough. Those who do bad to you, don't plan a revenge for them, and if u really want to, then just smile, because nothing else will piss them off more than your happiness, and on the other hand karma has already planned a revenge for them!

   I don't know where that girl is now, what she is doing or how she is, but one thing I'm damn sure about is that wherever she maybe, whatever she might be doing, she still continues to smile. I just know that she is very happy and she always will be! She is not my friend or sister or anyone but someone just very known to me She beared too much at a tender age like fifteen, like her everyone is fighting an unknown battle, everyone of us is struggling with something or the other in our lives, but always remember that what makes us weak today is what makes us stronger tomorrow. Live like her..Live such a way that when you die, you will always be remembered as THE GIRL WHO NEVER STOPPED SMILING~
